We had Effie come in to have her portrait made. She comes in every year and she’s such a sweet girl! We even did a family portrait while they were in the studio.

 

 

 

We had Will come in to have his picture made, his mother wanted to replicate a composite that a family member had done and she also wanted an oil portrait.  Here are a few of the photographs we created during Will’s photography session. Isn’t he adorable?

This From the Archives post is about the historic Henrico Theatre, which will be celebrating it’s 75th anniversary in April! It was built in 1938 and is located at 305 E. Nine Mile Road in Highland Springs. It was purchased by Henrico County in 1999. Today the theatre hosts performances by local performance groups including the Richmond Ballet, the Richmond Symphony,  and Theatre IV. They also screen classic movies like The Sound of Music and Casablanca for just $1 per person.

Amanda and Adam had their wedding and reception at the Jepson Alumni Executive Center in Fredericksburg, VA. We’ve photographed several weddings there, it’s such a great venue! The ceremony was outdoors in the courtyard and the reception was held inside in the Rappahannock Grand Ballroom. Our studio has been on Grace Street since 1924. We certainly must be one of the longest running businesses located on Grace! We’ve had several new restaurants open up over the past couple of years, which has ben great.

How do you know where to apply?

You can start by checking out the school’s official website. It will have links to several application sites, including one that’s specifically focused on college students, as well as one that is for prospective alumni or people who know someone who is. Check out the application deadline to see when it’s available. In the meantime, make sure that you visit the application sites, read through the various application requirements, and complete the required questions. The applicant checklist has everything you need to know to be sure you’re on the right track to earning your admission.

Prepare for the Test

If you’ve decided to pursue a degree in engineering, it makes sense to prepare for the MCAT or GRE. Both tests are administered each year by one of the national testing companies, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). You may think that there’s no need to practice for the testafter all, it’s only a year away! But there are several benefits to taking the test as early as you can. For one thing, a good prep will help you identify where you stand as a candidate, and where you are likely to fall short. A good predictor of what your MCAT score is going to be and where you might need to improve, in fact, is if you have taken a good-enough prep course. But if you have not taken a prep course, you might still be at risk of failing on the MCAT.

Amy & Jason recently had their wedding at Corinth United Methodist Church and their reception at Sandston Memorial Recreation Center. It was a beautiful day and a lovely wedding. Amy wore her mother’s veil, which was stunning. Here are just a few photos from the day.
